Since last May, Shanghai began to pilot.

Over the past year, a total of 500 pilot districts have installed 520 recycling bins and 292 tons of old clothing.

Professional companies are responsible for sorting and sorting.

Shanghai now has more than 20 thousand tons of daily garbage.

In order to enhance the reduction, reuse and harmless treatment of domestic waste, Shanghai carried out "2+3" domestic waste sorting collection in 1080 residential areas last year, that is, according to the "kitchen waste" and "other garbage" indoor classification, public area "hazardous waste", "glass" and "waste clothing" were put into special operation.

Old clothes recycling is one of the pilot projects of Shanghai domestic waste classification.

"It's so nice to have a collection box."

Jin Wuzhong, owner of the 12 floor of Ping Hua mansion, told reporters that old clothes could not be counted as rubbish. But in the past, there were no other recycling channels except donating.

Now, the clothes at home are even old.

In Ping Hua mansion, the reporter saw the collection and pportation of the blue frock company to collect the old clothes in the recycling bin, unlock, pack and weigh them. There are two big bags and 31 kilograms.

Yang Yinghong said that recycled clothing will be strictly managed for donation or industrial raw materials and will not enter the market.

After all the old clothes enter the company, special personnel will be sorted to meet the requirements of the civil service department, such as the new winter clothes and winter quilt. After the selection, ozone disinfection will be carried out and sent to the civil affairs department or charities.

Over the past year, Yuan Yuan has donated 11.8 tons of such old clothes.

Old clothes, such as old shoes and old bags, which are damaged or not worth wearing, will be classified again according to the fabrics such as cotton, wool and chemical fiber. The old clothes of different fabrics will be sent to the qualified processing enterprises for fibrosis treatment and made into reused industrial raw materials.

Waste clothing recycling and disposal network needs further improvement

Xuhui District Xizu Street Zhaoqing Neighborhood Committee 17 communities put together 13 old clothes special recycling boxes.

Di Wenyu, Secretary of the general Party branch and director, did not expect the workload of the neighborhood committees to be reduced after the recycling boxes were available.

Before the residents donated clothes, they were sent to the neighborhood committees. The neighborhood committees had to sort out and pack them. "Now it's OK, the residents themselves put them into the recycling bin.

Their environmental awareness has made this good thing smooth.

Relying on professional companies to recycle or dispose of old clothes, Yang Yinghong said, there are 20 employees in Yuan Yuan company, including shipping, sorting and management personnel. The monthly running cost of the company is about 75 thousand yuan, and all the profits now come from old clothes that are damaged and not worth wearing. The average monthly income is less than 50 thousand yuan, and the business is still at a loss stage.

"However, we will expand the scale of old clothes recycling, and once the dedicated recycling box is set up to more than 1000, we are expected to basically break even."

The relevant departments in Shanghai said that the current "recycling of waste clothing" project has been included in Shanghai's circular economy and cleaner production special projects, and has been included in Shanghai's fifth round three year environmental action plan from 2012 to 2014.

"We are considering making use of the energy saving and emission reduction funds in the city to provide financial support in the production and resettlement of special recycling bins and related pport vehicles."
