Meng Clothing Owners Ask Banks To Give Up Interest On Loans For Poor Units.

On Saturday, Bangladesh's clothing factory owners asked four state-owned commercial banks to give up the loan interest of unprofitable clothing and garment units.

The Bangladesh garment manufacturers and Exporters Association also requested the CEO and general manager of state-owned commercial banks to re adjust the repayment of the loan principal of the profit free factory units in the next 10 years.

The chief executive of Agrani Bank Limited said: "on the basis of specific circumstances, after adjusting the cost of capital, we may give up the interest of poor entities."

In May 18th, the private commercial bank of Bangladesh decided to abandon the loan interest of the 88 units of the 270 poorly dressed clothing units. According to the specific circumstances, the loan principal repayment time of the next 10 years will be readjusted.
