ASEAN Is Striving To Become The Future Garment Processing Center.

It is reported that ASEAN countries are more likely to become the world's textile and garment production centers compared with China and India. At present, ASEAN is already preparing to draft a ASEAN document to become the center of the world textile and garment industry, and entrepreneurs from ASEAN textile enterprises will make joint efforts to this end.

The draft document, led by ASEAN Textile Industry Association (AFTEX), is scheduled to be completed by the end of July.

According to AFTEX's chairman and Lee Quoc An of Vietnam, "this draft is only the first step in competition with China and India. ASEAN will also make further efforts in improving regional standards and patterns.

Through complementary advantages, we seek common development pattern.

At present, ASEAN's textile and garment industry is under the pressure of illegal import and export. Vietnam illegally imported 5% of its fabric last year, and illegal imports accounted for 20% of the total.

70.6% of Indonesia's domestic apparel market share comes from illegal imports.

Despite the decline in the global economy, the export of ASEAN's textile and garment industry is still developing.
