According to the latest statistical bulletin of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region's 2008 national economic and social development, the total sown area of crops in Xinjiang area in 2008 was 68 million 53 thousand and 100 mu, an increase of 3.2%, of which 24 million 749 thousand and 500 sown area of grain was increased by 19.7%, and the sowing area of 25 million 20 thousand and 200 mu was reduced by 6.4%; oil sowing area was 4 million 300 thousand and 500 mu, 62.4% increased; vegetable sowing area was 3 million 870 thousand and 700 mu, 9.8% 9.8%; and the area of Sugarbeet sown was 1 million 66 thousand and 500 mu, decreasing by 1 million 66 thousand and 500.

Grain production 10 million 228 thousand and 500 tons, increase 18%.

The output of vegetables was 13 million 78 thousand tons, and the yield increased by 11.4%.
